Supporting BARCS

BARCS is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization operating Maryland’s largest animal shelter and pet adoption center. We are an open admission shelter, granting refuge to every abandoned, neglected, abused, lost or surrendered animal that comes through our door. A staggering 30 or more animals are surrendered to BARCS every day. No matter what the circumstance, we do not turn away any animal in need of shelter, food, medical care and a loving touch.

No, unfortunately if you choose to adopt a dog on the day of the event you will have to take the dogs off the property.

All participants must be over the age of 16. If you are under 18 you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the event.

Please bring a yoga mat, a cold water bottle to stay hydrated (it will be warm!), and, of course, yourself!

The classes will be an hour, but some of the puppies will hang around after in a confined area and you can adopt a dog while you’re there!

No, you can not bring your pet to the fairgrounds. The only puppies that are allowed in the space are the ones brought by the shelter we are partnering with each week!

Maryland State Fair & Agricultural Society, Inc., thank you for your contribution to our non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. Your generous gift will help us to provide agricultural education to youth and the public throughout Maryland and surrounding states, and to give support to the agriculture industry for its future.
