The Baltimore County Farmers' Market

Want something new to chew on? Baltimore County Farmers have joined together to form the new Baltimore County Farmers' Market offering high quality local produce, meats, flowers, goods, gifts and more to the community. The Baltimore County Farmers' Market, conveniently located with free parking at the Maryland State Fairgrounds North Gate, will take place every Wednesday from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m., beginning with a sneak preview on June 2, followed by a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting ceremony on June 9, 2010, and running through October 27, 2010. The Grand Opening will feature greetings by local dignitaries, live entertainment, giveaways and more.
"Our market will be unique in that it will be exclusively run by Baltimore County farmers with Baltimore County raised products," said Baltimore County Farmers' Market Manager Bill Langlotz. "A variety of fresh in-season fruit and vegetables starting with strawberries, asparagus, spinach, lettuce, spring onions and more will be available each week. Chicken, beef, bison and honey are just a few of the other featured local items. It makes me hungry just to talk about it," added Langlotz. Also, look for at the Maryland State Fair during the "11 Best Days of Summer." During the Maryland State Fair, the Farmers' Market will be open everyday and will be located in the Farm & Garden Building. Vendors will rotate from day to day and the Farm & Garden Building will be open Monday through Thursday from 12 noon to 10 p.m. and Friday through Sunday, and Monday, September 6 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. See you there!

HOPE RIDGE FARM
Hope Ridge Farm is entering its third season growing vegetables and fruits following National Organic Standards. Our goal is to provide our customers with a diverse selection of fresh seasonal produce to enhance their summer dining. WE have four areas of operation. Late winter we start our plants from certified organic seeds for our own planting stock as well as for sale. Our CSA customers are supplied weekly with a wide variety of delicious fresh vegetables, herbs and fruit. Annual expansion has allowed us to join the Maryland State Fair Farmers Market this year. Finally, every year we expand our selection with new varieties of annual and/or perennial produce. This year blueberries have been planted and should be producing in the not to distant future.
